We are looking for a Garden Centre Manager to join our forward-thinking team at Hitchin Garden Centre, Cambridge Rd, United Kingdom. This is a full-time position (45 hours per week including weekends), with flexible hours to meet the needs of the business.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing, leading, inspiring, and developing a team to ensure excellent customer service and store experience.
* Overseeing daily operations, including stock management, health & safety, security, and cash handling.
* Managing KPIs, costs, and budgets.
* Colleague development, training, and succession planning.
* Order management and stock taking.
Requirements:
* Proven managerial experience in a garden centre or retail environment, at centre manager or deputy manager level.
* Physical fitness for hands-on tasks and heavy lifting.
* Excellent customer service, communication, and team management skills.
* Experience with Excel for managing rotas and budgets.
* Plant knowledge and horticultural experience are advantageous.
