We are looking for nurses who can deliver safe and effective care of patients wanting to access; consultation for unplanned pregnancy, surgical and medical abortions, contraception and sexual health services for women.
You will need to be able to fulfil an integral role within our multidisciplinaryteam delivering a confidential abortion service. You will need to be motivated,enthusiastic, caring and empathetic. Pro-choice is a must.
The roleencompasses an opportunity to develop further for those successful candidateswho work 3 days or more to complete an accredited ultrasound course which alsoattracts a further financial incentive.

Main duties of the job
To deliver safe andeffective care of patients from admission to discharge in accordance withHealthcare Commission Standards, NMC Guidelines for Professional Practice andcompany policies and procedures.
Ensure the patients are aware of their options
Undertaking consultations including the discussion andconfirmation of treatment options.
Carry out observations
Carry out point of care testing including pregnancytesting
Discuss contraceptive options and provide/fitcontraception in accordance with guidelines NUPAS policies
Administration of drugs to patients, following NMCguidelines and NUPAS Policies and procedures
Appropriately Consenting patients fortreatment/procedures.
Provide and inform patients on STI Screening
Identify safeguarding concerns.
Checking details on patient notes and alerting Doctorto any significant conditions
Ensure patients have received and completed asatisfaction survey questionnaire before discharge
Ensuring patients are informed about aftercare priorto discharge
Providing confidential telephone advice for patientswith post-operative problems following discharge
Completion of contemporaneous patient records, consentand registers
Maintenance of patient safety
Maintenance of patient confidentiality and DATAprotection
Treat all patients with respect and empathy

Qualifications
Essential
1. Current Nurse and / or Midwifery Council (NMC) registration as a Registered Nurse (Sub part 1 of the NMC register)/Registered Midwife.
2. Up to date knowledge and experience of working in a sexual health/TOP/Gynaecological service.
Desirable
3. Faculty of Reproductive Sexual Healthcare (FSRH Letter of Competence in intrauterine techniques IUS/IDU fitter and Insertion and removal of Subdermal Implants SDI)
4. Recognised qualification in Independent/Supplementary Prescribing.
5. Ultra sound scanning experience in first and second stage trimester
