Overview

We seek an enthusiastic person to work with the Medical Education Team in a busy department. The post-holder will coordinate the Foundation Doctors in Training portfolio management, provide pastoral support, organise teaching days and the shadowing week, and act as the first point of contact for Foundation doctors. The role involves working primarily at Basingstoke with occasional travel to Winchester.


Responsibilities

* Organise weekly teaching programmes for Foundation Year 1 and Foundation Year 2 doctors.
* Facilitate and organise Simulation and ALS attendance for all Foundation doctors; ensure departments release trainees, and trainees know their booked dates.
* Maintain detailed attendance records of teaching contributing to the ARCP process for Foundation Doctors.
* Develop and maintain communications with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely cascades to the Foundation Programme Director and Medical Education team.
* Plan placements and rotations for Foundation Doctors, ensuring the Horus e-portfolio is kept up to date; lead Administrator for the E-portfolio system for Foundation Doctors.
* Organise mid-term reviews and annual induction Programme for Foundation Year 1 trainees.
* Provide pastoral support to all Foundation doctors and liaise with NHS England Wessex Foundation School to stay up to date with local and national developments.
* Organise meetings for Educational & Clinical Supervisors and coordinate ARCP panels.
* Attend ARCPs at least once per year and coordinate the clinical placements and allocation of Educational and Clinical Supervisors to ensure trainees meet curriculum requirements; ensure Supervisors are familiar with the HORUS e-portfolio system.
* Represent the Foundation Programme Director and Medical Education Lead at internal and external Foundation meetings; support postgraduate Medical Education delivery.
* Support the delivery of the Foundation Programme, ensuring high quality administration and alignment with GMC, NHSE, Wessex Foundation School and UKFPO standards.


Qualifications and Skills

* Demonstrable ability to multi-task, work to deadlines, and pay attention to detail.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible approach to work in a busy environment.
* Experience with portfolio and e-portfolio systems (Horus) is desirable.
* A positive, proactive approach to pastoral support and stakeholder liaison.
