About The Role
In your role as an Assistant Chef at HC-One, you'll value one thing above all: kindness. It carries across every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist Care homes. Every person working here understands that our Residents are people just like them, with their own stories to tell. Joining HC-One offers a wonderful opportunity to give back to these individuals.
As an Assistant Chef, your responsibilities include cooking and serving nutritious, healthy meals that Residents will love. You'll provide support to our First Chef, taking charge in their absence. Whether managing food stock, optimizing your budget, coaching colleagues, or supervising kitchen clean-up, Resident wellbeing is always your priority.
HC-One is looking for an Assistant Chef with at least a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and a good understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP). We are committed to a swift onboarding process and inclusive working practices, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds.
Your positive energy, ability to get along with people, organization skills, and attention to detail are essential. You should be able to follow recipes accurately and communicate considerately with Residents and colleagues. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility; therefore, you must recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond appropriately. All colleagues will attend safeguarding training relevant to their roles and undertake additional training as needed.
