We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at [School Name], a thriving primary school located in the heart of Bury. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the classroom, supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
About the Role:
As an HLTA at our school, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning. You will work alongside class teachers to deliver high-quality education and will have the confidence and capability to lead whole-class learning in the absence of the teacher. This role requires someone who is flexible, well-organised, and passionate about helping children achieve their best.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead whole-class sessions across a range of subjects and year groups
2. Deliver targeted interventions to support pupils' academic and emotional progress
3. Support pupils with additional needs, including those with SEND
4. Assist in planning, preparing, and assessing learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff
5. Provide high-quality support during lessons and help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
6. Support the wider school community through extracurricular activities and school events
We are looking for someone who:
7. Holds HLTA status or an equivalent qualification
8. Has recent and relevant experience working in a primary school setting
9. Is confident managing classroom behaviour and leading whole-class learning
10. Has a good understanding of the primary curriculum
11. Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills
12. Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children
