Job Title: Finance Administrator (Trainee Opportunity)

Location: Langport, Somerset

Salary & Benefits: £25,000 PA

29 days annual leave (inclusive of Bank Holidays), flexi-time, small, friendly and fun team, a growing company with progression opportunities, longstanding employees and supportive company, opportunity to work with a diverse and dynamic team, a picturesque location and office building with open plan offices and bright interior.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm. The company offers flexi time around the core hours of 10am - 3pm.

About Our Client:

A well-respected local company delivering professional services including accountancy and legal to both corporate and private clients. They are a growing business that takes on new clients almost every day!

The Role:

You'll be working in the office alongside an experienced team who handle the accounting and tax work for UK trusts. As you learn, you'll gradually take on tasks such as supporting trustees and beneficiaries with day‑to‑day trust administration, helping with annual tax returns, registering trusts, and preparing trust tax accounts. Over time, and with guidance from trained professionals, you'll also learn how to advise trustees on their responsibilities. This is an entry‑level role, so you don't need previous experience - full training and ongoing support will be provided.

How You'll Grow Into the Role

From day one, you'll receive full support and hands‑on training from experienced industry professionals. As you build confidence and develop your skills, your responsibilities will increase at a steady, manageable pace. You'll start with basic tasks and, over time, progress toward more complex work such as preparing tax returns for individuals, trusts and estates, and communicating confidently with clients and HMRC.

What Your Responsibilities Will Develop Into

As your training progresses, you will gradually learn to:

Support with trust administration, trust registrations and tax returns, as well as personal tax returns.
Prepare accounts for clients, including reconciling information, data inputting and managing client relationships.
Produce draft tax returns based on the accounts you've prepared.
Assist with management accounting tasks.
Prepare estate accounts.
Work on statutory accounts.
Carry out client bank reconciliations.
Monitor and work to key deadlines for each assignment.

What We're Looking For

Confident using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and willing to learn new software
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well with colleagues and clients.
Organised, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Intelligent, positive, and confident in approaching new tasks.
Full UK driving licence (due to the rural office location).
