We are seeking a talented individual to join our Human Resources team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in London. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
HR Generalist/Manager - 12 month Fixed Term Contract
What can you expect?
* An exciting opportunity to join the Marsh McLennan UK HR Regional Advisor team as a HR Generalist/Manager.
* This role will provide advice, support and coaching to People Managers aiming to develop and enhance the quality of people management throughout the colleague lifecycle.
* The role of the HR Generalist/ Manager therefore has a direct and positive impact on the quality of the colleague experience across Marsh & McLennan. Under the guidance of the Lead HR Manager, you will be aligned to a specific group of People Managers who are likely to come from businesses and functions across Marsh & McLennan.
* Our aim is to provide consistent high quality support for People Managers regardless of the business or function.
* You may support People Managers in one or multiple countries and will work with other HR Generalist/Managers to exercise flexibility in resource to accommodate flexibility in demand.
* You will provide day-to-day advice across all aspects of the colleague lifecycle and will also be key to the deployment and adoption of new processes or initiatives which are aimed at People Managers.
* You will need to understand and reflect the local market perspective whilst respecting the value of enterprise-wide alignment where appropriate.
* You will also provide valuable insights to the Centers of Expertise which will inform the development and prioritization of initiatives, programs and project designed for colleagues and/or People
We will count on you to:
Provide guidance and support to People Managers at most levels of the business / countries supported across the full range of activities in the HR portfolio, including:
* Performance management including supporting implementation of colleague training/mentoring programs
* Communications, change management and organizational effectiveness
* Compensation, benefits, and global mobility
* Wellbeing, including managing the local delivery of wellness related programs
* Leave, absence and related topics including coordinating with workforce administration team for return-to-work accommodations and logistics
* Inclusion and diversity awareness and considerations
* Employee relations matters including investigations, performance improvement processes, disciplinary actions, grievances, appeals etc. Engaging ER with more complex issues for advice
* Career development including succession planning and mobility internally
* Support and potentially coordinate the rollout and delivery of HR programs in-region as well as contribute to process improvements
* Provide local business or country insights to inform CoEs or People Partners who may be developing strategic solutions to support workforce planning, succession or performance management.
* Coordinate necessary activity to support People Managers and affected colleagues during restructuring activities including planning and execution of consultations with colleagues about changes affecting roles or terms of employment
* Ensure that regulatory and statutory obligations are discharged locally including works council accountabilities and statutory and/or regulatory reporting requirements. Where the HR Manager is the only HR professional in-country, they will be responsible for ensuring that local statutory and/or regulatory requirements relating to employment are met, highlighting where necessary issues which require input from experts e.g. legal advisors.
* Work with People Partners and CoEs to determine best practices, continuously improving delivery methods, and especially taking into account regional or country-specific nuances to guide the delivery of local implementation
* Support peers and less experienced HR Managers as required to ensure that the team delivers a consistent and high quality service across all locations for which it is responsible.
* May identify opportunities to make improvements to the service provided by People Services, and demonstrates a willingness and aptitude to lead work to define and implement changes that will deliver a better service to People Managers
What you need to have:
* Relevant experience in HR within a large professional services or financial services company
* Demonstrated ability to coach People Managers at most levels in the business effectively through all aspects of the employee life cycle including in more complex situations
* Experienced in supporting managers with employee relations case management including investigations and administration of hearings
* Experience of successfully supporting project/initiative implementation across the HR portfolio
The Marketing Business Partner Leader for Marsh Japan will act as a strategic advisor to business units, driving marketing initiatives that enhance business growth, strengthen brand relevance, deepen client engagement and drive demand generation. A core responsibility is leading and developing the Marsh Japan Marketing Business Partner (BP) team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with Marsh and Marsh McLennan’s strategic objectives.

Stakeholder engagement & Strategic planning
* Serve as the key point of contact for designated business segments, industries and services.
* Conduct competitor analysis to inform marketing and communications strategy.
* Develop marketing and communications plans aligned with business strategies to deliver measurable impact.
* Create audience insights-driven strategies with clear, measurable objectives covering thought leadership and demand generation.
* Manage and optimize the marketing and communications budget to ensure effective resource allocation and maximize return on investment.
* Lead the development of integrated marketing campaigns and execution plans across top, mid and bottom funnel stages in collaboration with internal local and regional stakeholders.
* Maintain ongoing stakeholder engagement throughout the campaign lifecycle (pre-, during and post-campaign).
Marketing campaign management
* Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality campaign and event execution.
* Provide real-time analytics for campaign performance review and optimization.
* Lead management follow-up with business stakeholders after campaigns and events.
Content adaptation, localisation and development
* Identify content requirements across key audience groups.
* Adapt, localise and/ or develop relevant content and assets (article, video, SEO/SEM, social, press release, posters etc) in collaboration with the Asia Marketing and Communications team, aligned with strategic objectives.
* Regularly assess content effectiveness and optimize accordingly.
* Partner with the Marsh McLennan Asia Media Relations COE on local press releases and media interviews.
* Contribute local key messages and quotes, pitch media alerts, distribute press releases and support translation needs.
What you need to have:
* A degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or business/ commerce with a major in one of these areas is preferred.
* Minimum 15 years’ experience in integrated marketing within a B2B environment.
* Solid corporate experience especially from within the technology, consulting or agency sectors. Prior experience working in or with the financial/ insurance sector desirable.
* Expertise in multi-channel marketing, with a focus on digital-first content strategies and digital marketing best practices. Experience in media relations is an advantage.
* Commercially astute and able to work with the business on managing and deriving leads to drive business development.
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to effectively manage relationships across all levels of seniority.
* Skilled at translating complex technical information into clear, accessible content for targeted audiences.
* Ability to think laterally and creatively and superior communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence outcomes at all levels of the organisation.
* Outstanding project management skill, in planning ahead the different milestones to achieve and execute in a timely manner with strong commitment on quality.
* Curious and proactive mindset, with a keen interest in industry trends, marketing innovations, and emerging communication strategies.
* Collaborative team player who contributes positively to a dynamic team environment.
* Detail-oriented and comfortable with a fast-paced environment.
* Strong technical and analytical skills. Comfortable in using Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and leveraging artificial intelligence tools. Proficiency in working with various marketing and communication platforms, including analytics tools, CRM systems, Zoom and other productivity tools.
* Excellent command of written and spoken English and Japanese.
