Progress Teachers are looking for a committed Behaviour Mentor to work with a caseload of pupils in a local AP Setting with varying SEN/SEMH needs. You will provide one-to-one support, help implement behaviour strategies, and assist pupils in developing positive social, emotional, and learning behaviours.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support to pupils.
* Implement and support personalised behaviour management plans.
* Help pupils develop social, emotional, and self-regulation skills.
* Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress to teachers and leadership staff.
* Liaise closely with colleagues and parents/carers to ensure consistency in approaches and support young people to make constant positive progress.
* Support safe and positive learning environments and de-escalate challenging situations.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies to provide consistent support.
* Assist pupils with transitions within the PRU and, where appropriate, prepare them for reintegration into mainstream education.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children and young people with behavioural difficulties.
* Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Patience, resilience, and a solutions-focused approach.
* Experience in a PRU, SEN school, or similar alternative provision setting is highly desirable.
* Commitment to professional development and ongoing training in behaviour management.
* Experience in trauma-informed / therapeutic approaches to behaviour management is highly desireable.
* DBS on the Update Service OR willingness to obtain.
