About the Department
The UK Sync Department specialises in all aspects of music exploitation and administration, from Feature Films, TV, Advertising, Computer Games, Merchandising, and other new and emerging media.
About the Role
The main focus of this role is to facilitate the UK Sync team with all aspects of day- to-day licensing & creative work, ranging from contract drafting, quote system entry, international clearances, to contacting writer/artist management and ad-hoc licensing & creative projects.
Additionally, the role will be tasked with managing the departments relationship with the Stellar Songs catalogue (Joint Venture) through regular meetings, calls and co-ordinating day to day sync requests for their catalogue.
The role-holder will be encouraged and expected to attend Sony artist gigs, as well as sometimes attending artist/management creative meetings as well as client meetings.
This role will report to the VP Licensing and VP Creative and will work with the Sync Manager to ensure that all licenses and invoices are drafted assisting the team to complete all set objectives and achieve budget.
What You’ll Do: (job responsibilities)
* To manage licensing process on behalf of other sync team members, including deal entry, license and invoice drafting
* Be the ‘point person’ for management if the approval process for UK and international territories for all synch requests on behalf of Stargate, Naughty Words, 45th & 3rd and Hotel Cabana
* Assisting with artist/writer clearances for media sectors including advertising, film festival, TV and corporate video
* Liaison with songwriters and artists over any synchronisation queries
* Pitching, quoting and deal negotiation within TV media sector
* Handling Blanket TV enquiries
* Create synchronisation reports regularly for senior management and writers/artists.
* Create Pitch reports.
* Assisting with songwriter audits of sync activity
* Seeking approval for Gratis and low fee licensing requests (internal email communications)
* Assisting with urgent sync clearances obo VP Licensing and VP Creative
* Working with Senior Sync Manager on songwriter audits
* Attend industry events, client meetings, Sony artists/writer gigs and writer meetings.
* Data entry on licensing and pitching systems.
* Ad-hoc duties as require
Who you are:
Essential Requirements
* Attention to detail.
* High levels of accuracy.
* Strong organization and prioritisation skills
* Good communication skills, written and verbal.
* Ability to work effectively with internal colleagues across different departments and clients to ensure that projects and collaborations are successfully delivered.
* Solid skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word/Outlook and PowerPoint.
* A passion for music and the industry.
Desirable Requirements
* Experience of working as a music supervisor or within the media industry.
* Experience of working in a client-facing role.
* Own network of industry contacts.
* Experience of data entry tasks & responsibilities.
The role-holder should be prepared to attend networking events and gigs in their own time outside of normal office hours.
