Are you looking for an exciting opportunity in hospital pharmacy? We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to become part of our team at the Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust.
As a Pharmacy Assistant you will carry out a range of duties covering areas of the pharmacy department, including dispensary, distribution, goods receipt, deliveries of medicines to wards and departments and pharmacy reception, to provide an efficient and comprehensive pharmacy service.
There is a requirement to possess an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent ) for this role.
All staff participate in weekend and the Bank Holiday working arrangements of the department and working shifted days to cover late nights.
Main duties of the job
To work as a key part of the pharmacy team both within our modern automated dispensary area and at ward level.
Distribution - receiving in stock, using barcode technology, replenishing the automated dispensing robot, preparing ward boxes and restocking ward medicine supplies.
Dispensary - dispensing prescriptions to meet turnaround times and provide support to the dispensary manager and lead technician in the day to day running of the dispensary.

* Have an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
Experience
* Current experience of working in a pharmacy
* Proven ability for team working, good interpersonal skills, following procedures
Skills
* Ability to work quickly, calmly and accurately under pressure
* Good organisational skills.
