Demand Planner – Temporary Contract (6+ months)
Location: Maidstone, Kent. Own transport required.
Salary: £16–£17 per hour.
Hours: 6:30 am–3:30 pm, Monday–Friday plus some weekends with time off in lieu.
Role Purpose
The Planning Team is responsible for accurate supply visibility, efficient stock allocation, and seamless communication across the UK supply chain, procurement, master planning, transport, and intake teams. This role manages the full operational cycle—from suppliers, planning and PO creation to processing arrivals—and leads short‑term planning to align supply and demand for customer fulfilment.
Key Responsibilities
* Verify actuals, review short‑term supply entries and forecasts.
* Add site stock into the availability website and refresh availability data.
* Share UK availability report with the business.
* Review calculated stock reports, compare forecasted vs. actual and investigate variances.
* Allocate supply to demand (S&D) using the appropriate software, restrictions and inputs from PBM, master planners, and identify gaps or risks to coordinate adjustments to meet S&OP objectives.
* Coordinate daily distribution planning related to order preparation and hard allocation of sales.
* Develop and manage processes to align master schedules to execute customer order requirements.
* Update plan and inform master planning immediately when suppliers cannot fulfil orders.
* Call suppliers to move stock when requested by PBM or master planning.
* Act as an S&OP communication hub to the business (Operations, Stock Forecast, Master Scheduling, Logistics).
* Action stock movements in the ERP system accordingly.
* Perform distribution point allocation in the appropriate software.
* Request and enquire about day‑on‑day deliveries and specials requested from suppliers when required, inform transport of any requests.
* Ensure all system inputs are accurate, timely and aligned with operational requirements.
* Drive efficiency through continuous improvement and process development with stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in supply chain, supply planning or demand planning.
* Confidence working in a fast‑paced operational environment.
* Flexibility to work every other weekend and shifts as needed.
