This role requires proven civil engineering site delivery experience, as it is essential that the successful candidate can develop practical, buildable and efficient project delivery programmes. You will be responsible for planning the most effective construction methodologies, proactively identifying solutions to engineering and logistical challenges, and ensuring programmes reflect real on-site delivery.
The role will also support our pre-contract tender team, contributing to bid writing and clearly articulating construction strategies through scheme-specific programmes.
Main Duties for the Senior Planner
* Provide advice and assistance on planning, methods of construction, solutions to engineering problems and programme creation,
* Ensure that while planning each tender, all possible alternative methods and strategies have been considered and discussed with the tender team.
* Assist with providing supporting documents for each tender submission as required.
* Jointly reviewing sub-contracted design work with respect to buildability and tender compliance, seeking advice from the Technical Manager when necessary.
* Ensure that any programmes and supporting documents produced, comply with all schemes’ specific constraints.
* Keep up to date with industry developments, innovations, and legislation.
Are you the person we are looking for?
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working on civil engineering sites and hold a minimum HNC in Civil Engineering. You will be a collaborative team player who is comfortable working closely with colleagues across project and pre-construction teams.
Strong communication skills are essential. Experience using planning software such as Asta or Microsoft Project is desirable; however, this is not critical, and training can be provided for the right candidate with the right site background.
