South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at The James Cook University Hospital, is currently expanding its Gynaecological Oncology surgical team in partnership with other Gynaecological Oncology services in the North East.
We are seeking a surgical Gynaecological Oncologist with specialist skills to complement our existing teams, develop, and maintain clinical and academic excellence. The candidate must have GMC accreditation with a sub-specialist qualification in Gynaecology Oncology or be within 6 months of completing specialist training.
The successful applicant will be employed by South Tees NHS Foundation Trust, with the base at The James Cook University Hospital Gynaecological Oncology Centre.
The James Cook Gynaecological Oncology Centre is one of the few centres in the UK offering a surgical portfolio that includes state-of-the-art robotic operations and cytoreductive surgery. The Gynaecology Oncology service is supported by on-site specialist surgical services, including Colorectal, Vascular, Plastics, Thoracic, and Urology, as well as medical and clinical oncology teams.
Development of research programmes by the post holder will be encouraged. The hospital provides services for Reproductive Gynaecology, complex Maternal and Fetal Care, and is a BSGE-designated endometriosis Centre with BSUG accreditation for Urogynaecology. The Gynaecological Oncology services at the trust are accredited by the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology.
