Electric Control and Instrumentation Engineer - Nuclear Power Generation

We're looking for an
EC&I Engineer
to join our Energy team, contributing to critical nuclear projects across the UK. This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging and highly regulated projects, with flexibility and professional development at the core of what we do.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the design, development, testing, and implementation of EC&I systems within nuclear projects
* Produce design calculations, specifications, drawings, and reports aligned with project and regulatory requirements
* Apply Systems Engineering principles to requirements capture and new architectures
* Contribute across the project lifecycle, from bid and concept design to installation and commissioning
* Support systems integration, testing, and validation of PLC, SCADA, and simulator systems
* Assist in preparing design safety documentation in compliance with nuclear safety standards
* Participate in site surveys, inspections, and commissioning activities
* Drive technical investigations, problem-solving, and root cause analysis
* Produce high-quality technical reports for stakeholders
* Build and maintain strong relationships with peers, partners, and clients
Skills & Qualifications (Desirable):
* MEng, MSc, BEng, BSc or equivalent in EC&I or a related discipline
* Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (support provided)
* Awareness of civil nuclear plant systems, structures, and components (or experience from other highly regulated industries)
* Knowledge of EC&I principles, design tools, standards, and practices (e.g., BS, IEC, IEEE – IEC 61508/61511/61513/61226, ONR SAPs/TAGs)
* Experience across the C&I system lifecycle: specification, design, verification, testing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance
* Understanding of high-integrity hardware/software-based control systems
* Strong communication skills, able to engage stakeholders effectively
* Collaborative mindset, motivated, and able to deliver against deadlines
