Beacon Electrical is a retail company based in Plymouth and is a family owned and run retail business based in Plymouth, with branches across South Devon. The business has been trading for over 45 years and is now one of the leading independent electrical retailers in the South West. We are members of the largest electrical buying group in Europe, Euronics.
We sell a huge range of electrical products, from washing machines, fridge freezers and cookers, to TV and audio, to heating and fires, to lighting and light bulbs, to house wiring accessories and cables. However, the largest sector is the "white goods" or large kitchen appliances. for which we are one of the largest independent retailers in the south west. We mostly sell to the public, but we also do have commercial contracts and customers to look after.
We are looking to strengthen and add to our Office Admin team due to the ongoing growth of the business.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Office Administrative Assistant, located in Plymouth. The Office Administrative Assistant will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks. These tasks include answering and directing phone calls, managing office communications, supporting executive staff with clerical duties, and ensuring the smooth operation of the office. The individual will also assist in scheduling meetings, organizing files, and other administrative responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
* Administrative Assistance and Executive Administrative Assistance skills
* Proficiency in Phone Etiquette and strong Communication skills
* Clerical Skills necessary for managing routine office tasks
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Previous experience in an administrative role is a plus
* Process stock orders and customer special orders with our suppliers.
* Raising products onto our EPOS system.
* Answering calls and emails as part of a fast-paced office team.
* Scheduling and overseeing the booking of home deliveries and installations with our customers
* Ensure each customer has a positive Beacon Electrical experience and will become a repeat customer.
* Deal with day to day administration tasks within the department.
We are looking for someone with a genuine desire to always help customers in their actions and the tone they use with the experience of communicating with customers effectively via various channels. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be able to deal diplomatically with a range of people inside and outside of the business. An exceptional attention to detail, with proven general IT skills across multiple platforms and EPOS systems and someone who can work individually, or part of a close-knit team.
Continuous training will be provided, but the successful applicant must demonstrate that they can also learn independently and develop product and procedures knowledge quickly.
This is a full time position working Monday to Saturday, with fixed day off in the week.
