Summary
Freedom Group is seeking a skilled Commissioning Engineer or Protection Engineer to join our expanding team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to transition into Protection Engineering, with comprehensive training and development provided.
The successful candidate will be involved in designing, constructing, and commissioning 33kV substations and cable circuits across the region, playing a crucial role in the safe and efficient operation of high-voltage power systems. Whether you have a background in protection or commissioning and wish to specialize further, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
* Commission and test complex protection and control schemes across various low and high-voltage electrical network projects.
* Work on systems such as transformers, Tapchanger, switchgear, and telecontrol systems in substations and power stations, up to 400kV.
* Ensure all schemes are fully tested, commissioned, and operational, adhering to high safety, quality, and compliance standards.
* Deliver projects on time and within budget, following industry standards.
* Contribute to developing high-performance, future-ready electrical networks.
Candidate Requirements
* Relevant electrical qualification (HNC or degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering).
* At least 3 years’ experience with protection, control, telecontrol, or SCADA systems in high-voltage environments.
* Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution and generation protection systems, relay types, scheme types, and testing procedures.
* Excellent communication skills and team collaboration abilities.
* Proactive attitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
* SSEN Cat 1-3 accreditation.
