Counterbalance Operative - Temporary to Permanent
40 Hours per Week + Plenty of Overtime | 7:00am-3:30pm
Southminster | Immediate Start Available
We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Materials Handling Operative to support the efficient movement of raw materials and finished goods on site. This is a hands-on role that plays a key part in keeping daily operations running smoothly.
Overall Purpose of the Role
To ensure materials are safely transported, supplied, and stored to support an effective production process.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Accurately completing stock, movement, and distribution records
* Supplying raw materials and components to production areas as required
* Collecting, transporting, and storing various materials including bales and other ingredients
* Moving goods from and to storage areas, including packaging and finished products
* Completing clear handovers with operators at the start and end of shifts
* Working day and night shifts as required
* Supporting occasional weekend and bank holiday work during peak periods
Duties may change over time in line with business needs, and flexibility is expected.
Key Skills & Experience
* Experience in a production, warehouse, or similar operational environment
* Health & Safety knowledge or qualifications beneficial
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Good verbal and written communication
* A positive team-focused approach
* Forklift Truck driving experience (minimum 6 months)
* Telehandler or shunter skills (training can be provided)
* Basic computer skills for using scanners, printers, and simple systems
Requirements
Due to the site location, own transport and a valid driving licence are essential.
