An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Director of Nursing
for the Surgical Division to join our CQC Outstanding Trust. You will
work collaboratively as part of the triumvirate leadership team with the ADO and Chiefs of Service. This post is part of the on call manager's rota.
We are looking for a dynamic, inspiring nursing leader with extensive
experience in the delivery of high quality surgical services.
The post holder is a key player in accelerating the transformational change to deliver the core business agenda. With responsibility and accountable for providing comprehensive and robust professional
leadership, ensure that patients are managed and cared for effectively,
efficiently and safely in the surgical division. Will lead on the infection
control, safeguarding and all elements of the clinical governance
agenda.
Main duties of the job
The Associate Director of Nursing is a key player in accelerating the transformational change to deliver the core business agenda, in partnership with triumvirate team members. As part of the programme the RODPA will be required to:
1. Deliver high quality, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Registered Operating Department Practitioner, in the perioperative environment.
2. Work as part of the care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the patient.
3. Have sound attitudes and behaviours compatible with the NHS and our Trusts organisational values.
4. Demonstrate a flexible and dynamic attitude to practice learning, academic studies and the productive job role
5. Exercise personal responsibility and work under the supervision of a registered professional and within defined parameters of practice.
6. Work with Practice Supervisors, Practice Assessors, Practice Educators and Academic Assessors, taking responsibility for developing your own competence
7. Commit to minimum attendance requirements and adhere to the Cohort timetable set by the Higher Education Institution and the placement timetables set by RSFT
8. Maintain evidence of your learning and upload this on a regular basis to the learning management system (APTEM)
9. Successfully complete the competencies as specified by the HCPC Standards of Proficiency.
10. Successfully complete and pass the academic elements of the programme, as specified by the Higher Education Institution and in the Institute for Apprenticeships Standards.
11. Adhere to the policies and procedures required as a student of the Higher Education Institution and of the Trust

13. Provide and monitor care

32. Work collaboratively with Practice Supervisors, Practice Assessors, Practice Educators and Academic Assessors and Tutors, taking responsibility for developing your own competence
33. Commit to minimum attendance requirements and adhere to the Cohort timetable set by the Higher Education Institution and the placement timetables set by RSFT
34. Maintain evidence of your learning and upload this on a regular basis to the learning management system alongside a log of your off-the-job hours
35. Manage and prioritise own workload to ensure the smooth running of the service and completion of the apprenticeship within the identified time period

39. Registered Nursing & Midwifery Qualification and eligible to practice
40. Appropriate management and/or post graduate qualification or experience

Essential
45. Knowledge and application of advanced clinical, operational and managerial nursing practice obtained by extensive in-depth experience in a complex acute healthcare setting plus relevant specialist study
46. Experience of managing a multi-faceted service as a senior nurse, including financial, staff management and change management
47. An understanding of the complexities of service delivery in a large organisation
48. Fully conversant with the national nursing/AHP impact of national initiatives on the profession
49. Good understanding of current and developing NHS policy
