Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer

I'm currently working with a well-established building services engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team. With over 30 years' experience delivering mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) engineering design, the consultancy works across a wide range of sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, leisure and mixed-use developments. They provide practical, sustainable engineering solutions and support projects from early feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and project completion. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who can lead mechanical design work, manage projects and support the development of junior engineers.
The Role
* Lead the mechanical design on a variety of building services projects
* Deliver projects from concept design through to completion
* Produce and review mechanical calculations, specifications and technical reports
* Design systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning and domestic water services
* Coordinate with architects, structural engineers and other design disciplines
* Attend client and design team meetings
* Support the mentoring and development of junior engineers
* Contribute to low carbon and sustainable design strategies
About You
* Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
* Proven experience working within a building services consultancy
* Strong knowledge of mechanical building services design, including HVAC systems
* Experience delivering projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, healthcare or education
* Familiarity with relevant design standards and industry software
* Chartered or working towards Chartership (CIBSE / IMechE) is desirable
* Confident managing projects and engaging directly with clients
