GSL Education are seeking a passionate and nurturing Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming school in Derbyshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed educator who understands the importance of early learning and can support pupils as they transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1.
As a Year 1 Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging lessons, developing core literacy and numeracy skills, and creating a positive classroom environment where every child feels supported and confident.
Role Responsibilities of Year 1 Teacher:
* Plan and deliver creative, structured, and age-appropriate lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum.
* Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development during this key stage.
* Encourage curiosity, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
* Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, providing constructive feedback.
* Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to support learning outcomes.
* Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
What You’ll Bring as a Year 1 Teacher:
* UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Experience teaching in EYFS or Key Stage 1 is desirable.
* Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills.
* A nurturing, patient, and engaging teaching approach.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
