Overview
The post-holder will form part of ABCs RASS and Equity clinical team, delivering outreach healthcare to communities experiencing barriers to accessing mainstream services. They will support the delivery of health checks, smoking cessation support, vaccinations and MECC-based health promotion in both community and hotel settings used for Refugee and Asylum Seeker accommodation. Working under the supervision of the Lead Nurse and following agreed clinical protocols, the post holder will:
Responsibilities
* Provide opportunistic and planned health promotion interventions.
* Deliver smoking cessation support and education.
* Assist in the delivery of vaccination clinics and pop-up health checks.
* Support individuals to access and engage with primary care.
* Contribute to ABCs wider inclusion and prevention work through collaborative, person-centred care.
You may be required to undertake all or some of these duties depending on service needs. Full training and supervision will be provided.
About our service
Our Refugee and Asylum Seeker Service (RASS) provides trauma-informed healthcare in hotels across Surrey and Sussex. The clinical team includes experienced GPs, nurses and paramedics who provide on-site urgent care, health checks, vaccinations, wound care and womens health sessions. The team works closely with local primary care and public health partners to ensure continuity of care and improved access to NHS services for people who have newly arrived in the UK.
