Our client, a leading environmental consultancy, is seeking an Environmental Technical Lead to support the delivery of high-impact environmental services across the UK Oil and Gas sector. Based in Aberdeen, this role is pivotal in ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic environmental leadership in a fast-paced consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Project Delivery
* Serve as the technical authority for environmental support on UK Oil and Gas projects.
* Lead the delivery of environmental assessments, ensuring quality, compliance, and innovation.
* Develop and approve technical reports, environmental documentation, and strategic guidance.
* Ensure all deliverables meet applicable environmental legislation and industry standards.
Client Engagement & Business Development
* Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert environmental insight and solutions.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships across the project lifecycle.
* Lead business development initiatives, including bid writing and proposal development.
* Support the growth of the client portfolio through strategic engagement and market insight.
* Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
* Contribute to recruitment and team development in line with business growth.
* Promote knowledge sharing and continuous professional development within the team.
Governance & Quality Assurance
* Ensure technical excellence and quality assurance across all environmental outputs.
* Prepare cost estimates and manage project budgets, schedules, and scopes.
* Support internal audits, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills, Experience & Education
* Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Extensive experience in environmental consultancy within the UK Oil and Gas sector.
* Chartered status with a recognized professional body (e.g., CEnv).
* Proven track record in leading environmental projects and delivering high-quality outputs.
* Strong understanding of UK environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.
* Excellent communication, client engagement, and technical writing skills.
* Experience in strategic environmental planning, decommissioning, or offshore energy projects.
* Familiarity with environmental permitting, impact assessments, and sustainability frameworks.
* Experience presenting at industry events or engaging with regulatory bodies.
Location:Aberdeen-based, with flexibility to support projects across the UK.
