A vibrant, inclusive primary school in Wallsend is looking for an experienced Early Years Support Assistant to join their welcoming team. The school is well regarded for its caring atmosphere and commitment to giving every child the best possible start in education.
About the Role
This is a hands-on position supporting Nursery and Reception pupils as they develop essential early learning and social skills. You’ll be part of a skilled EYFS team that works collaboratively to deliver a curriculum full of creativity, exploration, and discovery.
Day-to-day duties will include:
* Supporting play-based learning activities in line with the EYFS framework.
* Helping children with early communication, phonics, and number recognition.
* Supporting pupils with additional needs or those who require extra emotional reassurance.
* Creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where every child feels confident to learn.
* Liaising with parents, carers, and colleagues to share progress and insights.
About You
* Prior experience in an early years or nursery setting is essential.
* Strong knowledge of early child development and learning through play.
* Ability to support children’s social, emotional, and language development.
* Patient, adaptable, and genuinely committed to giving children the best possible start.
* EYFS or Level 2/3 Early Years qualification preferred.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
