Class 2 LGV Driver / Transporter
The Class 2 LGV Driver / Transporter is responsible for transport and logistics operations for an industry-leading manufacturer, ensuring the safe and timely movement of materials and products. The role also supports product testing and on-site logistics activities. Varied working pattern, driver will need to be flexible on working hours and overnight stays will be required at least twice per month.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle & Compliance
1. Ensure vehicle is roadworthy, fully maintained, and compliant with UK legal and company standards
2. Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly
3. Maintain compliance with MOT, fleet, and site safety requirements
4. Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE
5. Report hazards or incidents promptly
Transport & Logistics
6. Plan efficient routes to optimise time, cost, and fuel usage
7. Carry out deliveries, collections, and returns between suppliers, customers, and internal teams
8. Supervise and assist with safe loading/unloading in line with regulations
9. Ensure goods are secure, labelled, and protected during transport
Documentation
10. Maintain accurate logbooks, mileage records, and delivery documentation
11. Complete paperwork and update internal systems as required
Operational Support
12. Assist with pre- and post-testing activities (cleaning, packing, movement of products)
13. Liaise with Line Manager and Product Quality Engineer to support schedules
14. Report and follow up on quality issues or non-conformances
15. Identify opportunities for process and workflow improvements
Essential Skills & Experience
16. Valid Category C (HGV Class 2) licence with CPC
17. ADR certification (dangerous goods)
18. Minimum 3 years’ experience as a professional driver
19. Production Experience (desirable)
20. Valid Forklift Licence (desirable)
21. Knowledge of ISO 9001 (desirable)
