Overview
Procurement Specialist – Direct at Penny Hill Press. This is a full-time, permanent role (Monday - Friday 8.30 - 5.30pm) with a minimum of three days per week in the Gravesend office.
The Procurement Specialist - Direct will be responsible for performing and overseeing Moove's Direct Procurement (primarily Base Oil and Additives) for its Manufacturing of Lubricants in the UK.
Responsibilities
* End to end management of Procurement for Moove Europe – Direct Categories (Base Oil and Additives)
* Category Strategy: short-term tactical negotiations and tenders, commercial engagements and long-term strategy (multi-round game theory)
* Terms and Conditions: negotiate contracts, MoUs, and other commercial and technical agreements; deep understanding of standards and market practice
* Base Oil Trading strategy and execution, including sourcing and sales strategies, monitoring exposures, arbitrage, and managing potential embedded derivatives
* Establish strategic partnerships with critical suppliers
* Risk Management for critical suppliers, raw materials and services
* Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) framework implementation
* Supplier Performance management: develop and track supplier metrics to drive continuous improvement
* Global Commodities strategy and management of the Cost Curve of Base Oil across refineries on all continents
* Define and implement procurement strategies at European and global levels for COGS reductions and efficiencies
* Ensure business continuity through procurement strategies
* Manage suppliers’ safety and incorporate their performance into Moove’s safe operations
* Analyze market trends and identify factors influencing availability and pricing
* Advise across the business on supply constraints, pricing initiatives and supplier performance
* Promote best practice in procurement processes to achieve continuous improvement and efficiency
* Identify sustainability solutions within the supply chain, including Scope 2 and 3 emissions optimization
* Own, manage, and ensure compliance with Procurement policies and related procedures
* Manage activities in ERP and other systems
* Ensure compliance with Trade / Legal requirements
* Optimize cash flow by improving payment terms and inventory management
* Lead negotiations and strategy with third-party manufacturers
* Develop new suppliers continuously
* Manage tenders, negotiations, and sourcing plans
* Drive innovation in procurement, including new products and technologies
* Improve efficiency in procurement through optimized resources and automation
* Act as guardian of costs and represent the company’s values with suppliers
* Attend and represent Moove in industry boards and associations
* Support Marketing and Sales with supply contracts to enable growth
* Develop solutions to increase transparency and efficiency in procurement communications
* Develop and manage departmental OPEX as part of the Operations OPEX plan
Essential Skills
* Leadership qualities with strong decision-making and accountability
* Experience in Procurement, Supply Chain and Base Oil Trading across Manufacturing and distribution in multiple countries
* Understanding of market economics, cost drivers and value chains
* Strategic and analytical approach to procurement; knowledge of strategic sourcing
* Proven negotiation skills and understanding of supplier/customer dynamics
* Independent and autonomous in negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers
* Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
* Advanced understanding of trading terms
* Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain results focus
Desirable Skills
* Engineering, Science, Commerce or Business degree
* Knowledge of suppliers and products in the lubricant industry
* Knowledge of lubricants formulations and key performance/value drivers
* Knowledge of Manufacturing, S&OP and B2B Marketing
* Understanding of commercial and business fundamentals in the lubricants sector
* Experience with SAP S/4HANA
* Proficiency in French, Portuguese or Spanish
