We are seeking a Senior Event Technician (Vision Specialist) in London to work within the Production team, based onsite with our client who is one of the world’s leading technology companies.
This role is responsible for working with a team of Senior Technicians, Technicians and assisting the Production Studios Team to deliver end-to-end event production including Broadcast, Video Production, technical coordination, presentation setup and support, AV/VC services, streaming, and event management. Proficient in Premiere Pro Editing.
The ideal candidate should have a high technical background with an advanced understanding of visual systems, specifically The ROSS Systems and Ross smart shell, ROSS PTZ, Sony, Panasonic and Canon Cinema cameras. The candidate requires experience of successfully planning and delivering events, strong problem solving skills, ability to stand in as a Technical Director when needed, exposure to installed audio-visual systems and the ability to mentor other team members.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Responsible, along with other Technicians, for the successful planning, staffing and delivery of event requests, held within the clients fully equipped event spaces.
2. Acts as the racks & video SME, providing expert operation of Sony camera systems within the clients fully equipped production control rooms, event spaces and production studios.
3. Acts as Senior Technical Director for live events when required.
4. Able to operate (or willingness to learn) other production technologies outside of vision specialism, i.e. ETC Lighting, Graphics ROSS Xpression, Barco event master and SSL audio consoles.
5. A Specialist in ROSS systems including Carbonite, Ultrix and the Avid Vision Mixer.
6. Mentors and coaches a team of technicians in collaboration with the Technical Event Lead.
7. Diagnoses and troubleshoots AV equipment when and where necessary.
8. Responsible for regular maintenance of vision equipment.
9. Works closely with internal technical teams to escalate and resolve equipment malfunctions, minimizing impact on service delivery.
10. Develops and refines operational processes, producing clear and actionable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to standardize procedures and ensure consistent execution.
11. Communicates effectively to explain services to both technical and non-technical clients as needed.
12. Involved in, or owns, special projects or assignments as outlined by leadership, executing them within the given timeline.
13. Leads R&D efforts, identifying ways to improve quality, efficiency through automation, tooling and process improvements.
14. Owns the technical support lifecycle and manages technical risks throughout pre-production planning, execution, and post-event.
15. Adheres to broadcast standards for remote and recorded attendees.
16. Delivers high-quality service and professionalism to clients.
17. Manages sensitive communication to resolve issues and maintain positive relationships with internal teams and external clients.
18. Collaborates with the wider Dreamtek community to facilitate knowledge sharing.
19. Performs ad-hoc duties when needed, including acting as a multi-skilled operator or supporting studio setups or camera operations.
20. Well skilled in Premiere Pro to edit and deliver event productions.
Skills & Qualifications
1. SME in operating Ross Carbonite, Barco switching, Sony RCP 1500 and ETC Ion lighting desk.
2. Experience working in a broadcast environment, particularly in a gallery or master control room setting.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within diverse, cross-functional teams.
4. Self-starter with a willingness to learn.
5. Understanding and experience of various event formats, including Q&A, training events, town hall meetings, etc.
Education & Experience
* Minimum 8 years of professional technical live event production experience.
