Food Operations Manager

The Deputy Catering Manager will work closely with the Catering Services Manager on the operational management of the Catering Service at Oldham Care Organisations. Working within prescribed budgetary limits, the Deputy Catering Manager will assist in providing a comprehensive, high quality, cost effective service to patients, staff and visitors.
Responsibilities
* Recruitment, selection, welfare and disciplinary procedures for staff.
* Ensure the highest standards of food hygiene safety, food quality and nutrition.
* Show leadership in health & safety, developing monitoring systems, policies, procedures, risk assessments and action plans.
* Respond to and monitor complaints regarding the department.
* Assist in Trust-wide strategic catering developments and lead activities and projects as delegated.
* Make assessments, provide written reports and implement new ways of working within the catering department.
* Manage change to working practices, manage conflict and culture change in own and other areas.
* Manage all retail outlets, produce monthly trading accounts and drive sales while catering to the needs of staff, visitors and patients.
Qualifications
* City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or relevant experience.
* Level 3 allergen qualification.
Desirable Qualifications
* Level 4 Advanced Food Safety.
* Level 4 Certificate in Management.
* Member of H.C.A.
Knowledge & Training
* Working knowledge of HACCP.
* Understanding of cleaning systems.
* Experience of planning, organising and controlling resources.
* Proven experience as a Supervisor or Head Chef.
* Proven track record in problem solving.
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to lead by example and recognise food trends.
