An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The position entails overseeing credit-related activities such as managing risk, developing and implementing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based role at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience working within a busy credit control team,
* Have strong financial understanding,
* Possess problem-solving skills,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Possess excellent communication skills, as the role involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the company's credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Being the lead contact with Credit Insurers, monitoring insured limits, submitting claims promptly, assisting in negotiations for renewal terms,
* Organising and leading monthly meetings with senior management,
* Providing management information to the senior team on debt status, debtor days, collections, and ad-hoc reports,
* Managing cash collection for all group companies,
* Ensuring departmental systems and protocols are effective and enforced,
* Overseeing the Credit Control Department and managing the team proactively,
* Processing all group credit applications and PODs,
* Handling major or sensitive credit decisions,
* Controlling credit limits,
* Managing litigation, insolvency proceedings, and pursuing claims,
* Setting credit policies to meet company goals and managing credit notes,
* Assessing risks for existing accounts and new credit applicants,
* Maintaining strong relationships with Credit Control, senior management, and other departments,
* Reviewing sales Terms and Conditions prior to approval,
* Visiting customers and sites as needed,
