Senior Theatre Practitioner – East Theatres team
At Ipswich Hospital we are seeking a Senior Theatre Practitioner to join our East Theatres team.
East Theatres offers surgery for adult and paediatric patients undergoing orthopaedic elective and trauma procedures. We comprise four operating theatres, two for trauma and two for spinal surgery.
We are looking for an Anaesthetic Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner. Two positions are available - 37.5 hours per week and 18.75 hours per week.
Role Summary
As a senior theatre practitioner, you will be a key member of the multi-disciplinary team. You will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high standards of peri-operative clinical practice and individualised patient care by demonstrating an advanced standard of clinical skills underpinned by theory. You will manage both elective orthopaedics and trauma and act up in the absence of the Clinical Lead, thereby requiring strong leadership skills and acting as a role model.
Responsibilities
* Assist the clinical lead in improving service provision within the suite through auditing, benchmarking and risk management.
* Promote the development of the peri-operative role, identifying, implementing and evaluating new ways of working and delivery of patient care and clinically effective guidelines.
* Teach, coach and mentor students, junior and support staff, and hold a relevant mentorship qualification.
* Act as a role model and demonstrate high standards of peri-operative clinical practice.
Qualifications
* Registered Anaesthetic Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
* Relevant mentorship qualification.
* Strong leadership and clinical skills suitable for senior theatre practice.
