Technical Team Manager - Long Term Asset Replacement Projections, Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom.
Base pay range: Join Scottish Water’s Strategy & Regulation team and help shape the future of water & wastewater infrastructure in Scotland. As part of the Strategic Investment Planning team, you will contribute to the development of long-term projections for asset repair, refurbishment, and replacement—supporting a £25bn investment ambition through to 2050.

Responsibilities
* Creating a fit-for-purpose strategic analysis framework, repeatable processes and evidence hub
* Driving quality in publishable strategic analysis and being recognised as a leading authority in long term asset repair, refurbish, replacement planning
* Embedding customer and societal engagement and service outcomes into the long-term strategy
* Driving long-term strategic investment planning
* Working on cutting-edge forecasting and modelling
* Engaging with regulators, industry experts and stakeholders to shape future infrastructure projections
* Being part of a collaborative, high-impact environment
* Collaborating cross-functionally with asset teams, costing services, analytics, and external partners to align long-term and near-term forecasts
* Leading work with other water utilities to understand trends, climate change, and key messages
* Participating in structured workshops and evidence sessions with regulators and contributing to senior leadership discussions supporting business and delivery plan submissions
What You’ll Gain

* Understand how climate change impacts asset bases and adaptation methods needed to forecast future needs
* Support the 25r Investment Strategy and sub-outcome frameworks underpinning the Long Term Strategy and the SR27 Final Business Plan
* Gain insight into Asset Management attributes required to manage a £120bn asset base
* Work with advanced modelling tools and methodologies linking near-term and long-term planning, including asset management approaches and long-life replacement models
* Engage with Copperleaf optimisation and confidence grading frameworks; translate technical outputs into strategic narratives for internal and external stakeholders
* Collaborate cross-functionally with asset teams, costing services, analytics, and external partners; engage with regulators through workshops and evidence sessions

The not-so-small print
* This role will be Grade 8. Starting salary of £52,671, with performance-driven pay progression to a maximum of £72,281
