Due to the partnership between Hays and a local authority in Birmingham, we are currently recruiting for a business support officer to join the team on a temporary basis.
Your new role
This vital role providesprehensive administrative and financial support to social work professionals, enabling them to focus on delivering essential services to children, young people, and families. You will be responsible for managing diaries, coordinating meetings and venues, tracking performance data, and maintaining high standards of data quality. Acting as a key point of contact, you’ll handle sensitive enquiries with discretion and build trusted relationships with carers, families, and professionals. The role demands confident use of IT systems, including Microsoft Office and electronic client record platforms, as well as accurate minute-taking atplex meetings. You’ll maintain legal files, support case preparation, and ensure all correspondence meets corporate standards.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience in office administration, information management, and working under pressure is essential. Strongmunication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are a must, along with the ability to supervise and train colleagues.
What you'll get in return
This is a temporary role for a minimum of 3 months, with hybrid working arrangements. The rate of pay for this role is £ premium rate per hour, which is paid on a weekly basis.
