Overview

We currently have a vacancy for a cleaner within our centre. This role is very important to the successful running of the centre, ensuring our customers have the best possible shopping experience.

You will be line managed by the Garden Centre Manager.

Rota: Monday, alternate Tuesday, Wednesday, alternate Thursday, Friday and alternate weekends, Saturday & Sunday 07:30 - 09:30

To be successful in this role, we are looking for people:

* A natural ability to work both on your own and as part of the wider centre team.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the centre in both the Garden Centre and the Restaurant, including, but not limited to:

* Areas to clean include shopfloor, toilets, staffrooms and offices.
* Hoovering/sweeping and mopping tiled and carpeted floor areas.
* Cleaning, dusting and polishing all surface areas.
* Replenishing handwash, toilet rolls and paper towels.
* Clearing and removing rubbish and emptying bins.
* Removing cobwebs and dust.
* Understanding and adherence of health and safety procedures and COSHH regulations.
* Maintaining stock levels of cleaning material and ordering new materials as required.
* Keeping the cleaning material area clear, tidy and ensuring the equipment is clean, maintained and well looked after.

* Employee Discount – 50% in Restaurants and 20% in Garden Centre on joining, increasing to 25% after 2 years’ service and 30% after 5 years’ service.
* Holiday (including bank holidays) – 5.6 weeks on joining increasing to 6.2 weeks after 2 years’ service and 6.6 weeks after 5 years’ service.

* Cycle2work scheme – After 1 year’s service, government initiative offering 25% to 39% saving on new cycling equipment, deducted from pay over 12 or 19 months.
* Child's first day at school – After 1 year’s service, come in late and go home early on your child’s first day of school life, to be there for drop-off and pick-up.
* RHS Membership or a Tree / Shrub – After 1 year’s service, choose one tree or shrub to plant each year up to £50 value or £50 towards RHS membership.
* Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) – After 2 years’ service, eligible to join EAP for wellbeing resources.
* Retirement – After 15 years’ service, if retiring with over 15 years of service, contracted hours reduced by a fifth but pay remains the same for final 3 months.
* Free Parking – Available to all employees in designated parking areas on site.
