Overview: The Principal Process Engineer provides technical support for printing, coating, converting, and finishing operations. Essential Functions Performed by the Position Collaborates with the production team to reduce defects and spoilage, ensuring robust manufacturing processes and techniques. Maintains a manufacturing focus on critical operating parameters that affect product quality and performance. Implements operational excellence programs for better communication, troubleshooting, and operational performance. Provides daily support to production activities, including monitoring key operating parameters, product quality, and equipment operation. Investigates and resolves root causes of customer complaints and other quality issues. Designs and conducts experiments (DOE), collect data, and perform data analysis and interpretation using statistical tools (SPC, 6 Sigma, or Excel spreadsheets). Presents data with conclusions and further recommendations (design and results). Participates in commercialization activities as part of the New Product Development Process for the introduction of new products, including managing the handoff between product development and manufacturing groups. Provides manufacturing input during the product development process for new products. Manages the process for commercializing maintenance of product changes (MOC) that do not fall under the product development process. Generates controlled and technical documentation required to support production, such as job jackets, material specifications, equipment specifications, capacity planning/production reports, or process development reports. Develops and manages customer-facing and internal specification documentation (e.g., GMS general material specification). Position Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering; chemical or mechanical engineering preferred. Experience: Minimum 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Specific experience in printing, coating, or converting industry preferred. Experience with operations safety and leading teams is a plus. Previous security product manufacturing experience is advantageous. WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
