Offer description

We are looking for a reliable and experienced qualified Dispenser to join our friendly and supportive team at Wychwood Surgery

This is a key role within our friendly rural practice, supporting the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients. You will work closely with GPs, the dispensary team and reception to ensure prescriptions are processed accurately, queries are managed effectively, and patients receive a high standard of care.

We are a well-established GP practice with a strong team ethos, where staff are valued and supported day-to-day. We recognise the importance of a well-run dispensary and aim to provide a working environment where you feel confident, supported and able to do your role effectively.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail, and can work confidently within a busy dispensary. This role would suit a qualified dispenser who enjoys being part of a team, is organised and proactive, and values delivering a reliable service to patients.

Main duties of the job

You will play a key role in the day-to-day running of our dispensary, ensuring prescriptions are processed safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard. Working closely with clinicians and the wider practice team, you will help manage queries, prioritise workload and support a smooth and timely service for patients.

The role involves accurate dispensing of medications, maintaining appropriate stock levels, and ensuring all work is carried out in line with practice procedures and safety requirements. You will also provide a professional and approachable service to patients, handling queries with care and attention.

This is a busy and varied role where attention to detail, organisation and reliability are essential. You will be expected to work both independently and as part of a team, contributing positively to the dispensary and wider practice. Experience of working in a dispensary setting and the ability to manage workload effectively will be important in this role.

About us

Wychwood Surgery is a well-established GP practice providing high-quality, patient-centred care to our local community. We are proud of our approachable and supportive team culture, where staff work collaboratively and are encouraged to share ideas and contribute to improving how we deliver services.

We recognise that a positive and well‑organised working environment is essential, and we place real emphasis on creating a practice where people feel valued, respected and supported in their roles. Our team works closely across clinical and non‑clinical areas, with a strong emphasis on communication, consistency and mutual support.

We are continuously reviewing and improving how we work as a practice, with a focus on making systems and processes effective for both patients and staff. This means you will be joining a team that is forward‑thinking, open to change, and committed to creating a manageable and well‑run working environment.

We offer a friendly and stable workplace, opportunities for development, and the chance to be part of a team where your contribution is recognised and you can feel confident in your role.
