Advanced expertise in exterior design and lightweight composites is incorporated within each product line.Guided by our Employee’s Charter, our core values are a reflection of who we are as individuals and as a company.Think BigTake ResponsibilityNever SettleBe CollaborativeAbout the RoleThis role is responsible for leading and supporting all quality aspects impacting, sustaining and improving the plant performance.The role will also deputise for the Quality Manager, with responsibilities including leadership and direction of the Quality team, reporting requirements and escalation support where required.Your ResponsibilitiesSupport quality management and site management objectives and tasksSupport quality management and site management reporting requirementsContribute towards the development and delivery of department and individual objectives to maintain/improve department and business performanceLead/involvement in continuous improvement activities for plant (quality, lean, scrap, etc.)Lead/involvement in analysis and problem solving activities (8D, 6-Sigma, etc.)Support site development and sustainment of QMS in line with standards and customer specific requirementsWork with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain customer and internal quality standardsSupport warranty processLiaison with external parties as required (customers, suppliers, etc.)Provide regular feedback through various mechanisms i.e. daily, weekly and monthly reviewsEnsure safe operating procedures are adhered to all timesSupport coaching and development activities as requiredMaintain responsible systems and metrics, including reporting as requiredSupport internal auditing across the plant (safety, systems, processes, etc.)Other duties commensurate to the roleWho we are looking forEssentialPrevious experience of leading and coaching teamsExcellent organization skills and management of prioritiesUnderstanding of 7W / lean improvementExperienced in problem solving leadership with strong analytical skillsUnderstanding of build standard creation (PFMEA, control plan, working level documents) and implementation / improvement of quality control systemsExcellent communication skills and the ability to present to all levels of internal and external customers.Understanding of measurement methods / methodologyPC literacy, including a working knowledge of reporting software, e.g. Microsoft OfficeResilient, self-driven and positive approachPrepared to work within remit and across functions/levels as requiredSystematic and logical approachFlexibilityDesirableQualified to HNC level or equivalent in a relevant engineering disciplineExperience of working within the automotive sector6-Sigma trained or trained in other problem solving methodologies (quality tools required)QMS and quality systems / auditing experienceProject development experienceWhat we offer At Magna, you can expect an engaging and dynamic environment where you can help to develop industry-leading automotive technologies.
