Role Summary

National Account Manager – THG Manufacturing (BFS: Bars, Foods, Snacks). Reporting to Manufacturing Commercial Director. Located in the UK with required travel to Brighter Foods (LL36 9LW) and THG ICON (Manchester WA15 0AF). The role focuses on driving sales, building strategic relationships and increasing brand visibility across national and key regional BFS groups, premium independent groups and other influential on‑trade accounts.


Responsibilities

* Lead, manage and grow a portfolio of key national retail and convenience customers, focusing on protein and health bar categories.
* Own and achieve key commercial objectives within a defined customer base and overall strategy, establishing and proactively managing relationships at multiple levels.
* Continuously evaluate customer product mix to drive improved profitability, incorporating initiatives from marketing such as complexity reduction and cost recommendation.
* Develop and manage customer joint business plans where relevant, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
* Build strong, long‑term relationships with buyers, category managers and key decision‑makers within assigned accounts.
* Manage customer relationships and internal relationships across commercial, technical and product development departments to optimise results in a matrix structure.
* Achieve agreed sales, volume and profitability targets through effective planning, execution, and customer collaboration.
* Annually review customer account plans as part of the budgeting process for the following year.
* Implement an agreed promotional plan within defined trade investment budgets.
* Lead customer pricing, promotional planning and contract negotiations to maximise profitability while ensuring competitive market positioning.
* Work closely with marketing, NPD, operations and supply‑chain teams to deliver tailored solutions for customers and ensure successful product launches.
* Provide accurate sales forecasts, demand planning inputs and regular performance reports to senior leadership.


Requirements

* Proven experience in national account management, preferably within FMCG, food, health or snacking categories.
* Background in managing major UK retailers (grocery multiples, convenience, discounters or health channels) or working with food manufacturing services.
* Strong understanding of the health, wellness and protein/snacking markets.
* Commercially driven with strong negotiation, relationship management and P&L experience.
* Ability to work cross‑functionally, influencing internal and external stakeholders.
* Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills.
* Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, growth‑focused environment.
* Willingness to travel regularly within the UK.
