We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in Greater Manchester, who are recruiting for a Senior Legal Officer to join their Childcare team on an initial 3 month locum contract, with potential to be extended.
This is a full-time position with an hourly rate of circa £30 p/hour via an Umbrella company, and they're looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
1. Providing direct support to two qualified lawyers in the team, assisting with the progression and management of casework
2. Drafting, reviewing and preparing a range of legal documents, agreements, and correspondence to a high standard
3. Leading on the preparation and processing of Section 31 applications, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and court deadlines
4. Conducting legal research, gathering evidence, and preparing case bundles to support effective case management and hearing
5. Liaising with internal departments, external partners, and stakeholders to progress matters efficiently and maintain clear communication channels
Requirements:
6. Ideally CILEx Level 3 qualified
7. Experience within Childcare/Family law
Working hours:
8. 35 hours per week
9. Monday - Friday, flexible start/finish times
