Chef de Partie
Location – Waterside Park Café, Hanningfield, Chelmsford
Salary – from £26,208 to £27,900 depending on experience
Employment – Permanent, Full Time – 40 hours per week, Day Shifts Only
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Chef de Partie to join our friendly team at Café on the Water, helping us deliver the “wow” factor to our daytime visitors all year round.
This role is perfect for chefs who value a healthy work–life balance as shifts are daytime only. You will be expected to work 3 out of 4 weekends, giving you regular planned time off.
As Chef de Partie, you’ll support the Head Chef with high‑quality food preparation, daily service, menu development and maintaining excellent kitchen standards. Tasks include food prep, kitchen cleaning, stock control, and helping ensure our food hygiene and safety measures are always first‑class.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their craft, communicates brilliantly, and brings passion, creativity, and attention to detail into every plate.
About You
This role would suit a junior Chef De Partie looking to progress or someone with experience in a similar environment who can meet the below requirements.
1. Professionalism, motivation, creativity, and a keen eye for detail
2. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work flexibly (including 3 weekends out of 4 and bank holidays)
3. NVQ qualification in a relevant field such as food & beverage services or hospitality
4. Level 2 Food Safety qualification
5. Excellent culinary skills and food product knowledge, including an understanding of nutritional standards
