The role
As an Engineering Delivery Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Join the Major Infrastructure Projects (MIP) team driving critical facility development at Devonport to support future MOD ship and submarine programmes, including Astute Class submarine maintenance.
Day-to-day, you’ll lead the development and delivery of design solutions to fulfil the demands of the nuclear and conventional facilities across Devonport Royal .
1. Lead delivery of nuclear infrastructure projects within the Major Infrastructure Programme.
2. Manage and guide a team of Design Managers/Engineers, ensuring technical oversight, competence, and alignment with business priorities.
3. Develop and implement effective supply chain and resourcing strategies to support project success.
4. Apply strong engineering and resource management skills to coordinate multidisciplinary design teams.
5. Ensure design outputs meet customer requirements and are delivered within agreed scope, quality, and time constraints.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Engineering Delivery Manager
6. Strong technical and resource management skills to lead and manage Design Managers, ensuring team capability and delivery of compliant design solutions.
7. Possess strong knowledge of support equipment design; MOD provisioning experience is advantageous.
8. Apply systems engineering across the lifecycle to deliver effective solutions in complex environments.
9. Experienced in delivering facility designs and upgrades on nuclear licensed sites.
10. Proven leadership in infrastructure project delivery.
Qualifications for the Engineering Delivery Manager
11. Degree in a STEM subject or equivalent experience, with Chartered/Incorporated Engineer status or evidence of progression toward it.
12. Membership of a relevant professional institution; Chartered Engineer or Chartered Manager preferred.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
