Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Visitor Operations Manager to play a vital role in leading and shaping the visitor journey at Waddesdon Manor. You will promote a culture of 'exceptional service, every time, for everyone,' leading by example, inspiring the staff and volunteers, and ensuring visitors are at the centre of all operations. With strong operational and people management experience in a visitor-facing role, you will act as ambassador for our visitors, ensuring their needs and expectations are embedded at the heart of all operations.


Responsibilities

* Act as Duty Manager for the Welcome Pavilion and admission points, ensuring all procedures are followed and every visitor has a safe and welcoming experience
* Oversee the smooth delivery of admissions and ticketing points, ensuring punctual opening, professional presentation and branding, and consistent standards across all touchpoints
* Monitor and maintain signage, wayfinding materials, and print stock to reflect the daily visitor offer
* Line manage a large team of staff and volunteers, fostering a "one team" culture and delivering a consistently excellent visitor experience
* Plan and manage staffing using rota systems, ensuring sufficient cover, efficient resource use, and budget control


Qualifications

You will thrive in this role if you are an experienced people manager with a strong background in visitor-facing operations. Confident communicator and skilled in managing front-line teams, you bring energy, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. You will enjoy motivating and developing staff and volunteers, balancing hands-on operational work with operational oversight. If you are proactive, adaptable and passionate about creating welcoming and memorable visitor experiences, you will be a valuable addition to the Visitor Experience Management Team at Waddesdon.
