You will lead and manage specific highly prioritized New Product Introduction (NPD) project activities across Convatec’s manufacturing network and Third Party Manufacturers. This role will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and tracking of Ostomy Care operational project activities, as the main interface between R&D and Manufacturing, in accordance with agreed upon deliverables, timings and budgets. You will report directly to the Director Advanced Operations Ostomy Care, and you will be responsible for conforming to agreed project timelines and budgetary projections. • This role is offered on a 6 month contract to conclude October 2024. Key Responsibilities: • Core team leadership and overall responsibility for ensuring delivery of all Global Operations & Quality (GQO) activities for Ostomy Care NPD projects. Working with cross functional project teams to provide a coordinated and collaborative approach to New Product Introduction. • Project management and coordination of the wider Global Operations & Quality teams to ensure delivery of project on time and on budget, including Global automation engineering, Manufacturing site, Operations Finance, Manufacturing Quality, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Packaging and Labelling. • Stakeholder management throughout the project. • Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities • Review project schedules with senior management and project team members; revise schedules/plan as required. Monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project • Run risk review sessions and build mitigation plans with cross functional teams to ensure level of risk is accurately assessed, and ensure threat to projects is minimised, and opportunities maximised. • Creation of operational strategy documents including assessing manufacturing requirements. • Leading Make versus Buy manufacturing investigations • Providing operational cost estimates to input into project business cases. Drafting CAPEX/CAR documentation. Monitor all budgeted project expenditures. • Evaluating and quantifying the production costs that will be incurred on finished goods through stage gates of the project. • Compilation and presentation of Operational input for Business process Gate reviews. • Signatory for any Operations sign offs as part of Design Control documentation • Determine the objectives and measures (KPIs) upon which projects will be evaluated at completion, and monitor through to completion Key Requirements: • Analytical skills with proven experience in project planning and project management, with excellent track record of product delivery. • Strong customer service attitude and capability and should be a strong relationship builder. • Candidate must be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently and to deal with ambiguity. • Capability to provide leadership of teams and co-ordinate with cross-functional areas and business functions. • Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problem, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness. • Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization. • Highly structured, capable of running lots of tasks in parallel. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Qualifications/Education: • University Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific discipline. • At least 3-5 years engineering experience and/or significant technical or scientific experience working within manufacturing and/or with automated equipment preferred. • Experience in project management in the medical device industry or similar. Experience in project management working with cross functional teams either in Operations Projects or Product Development projects. • Experience working with Business Process models eg Stage Gate Processes. Experience with SCRUM based sprint planning is desirable. • An understanding of Medical Device Regulations and CFR, and experience with Design Control is preferred • A project management certification e.g. PMP, APM, Prince 2 or equivalent is preferred. • A high level of proficiency in the use of MS Word, MS Project, MS Excel, database software, SAP, MS Outlook. Working Conditions: Home-based working. Will require flexibility, as required, to visit and work with ConvaTec manufacturing sites and other offices. Position may involve travel up to 25% of the time, mostly within Europe but overseas travel is expected. Most trips will include overnight travel.
