Overview
Our operations help everything to come together at Amazon. As the Site Leader in a fast-paced and challenging environment, you’ll be the person who knows your area of the business inside out. You’ll own the operational metrics and set the strategy for your area of the business to deliver for our customers and ultimately grow our operations. You’ll also develop a large team and coach and mentor team leaders.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Monitor operational metrics and business performance
* Contribute to planning the operational budget, considering everything from financial and labour planning
* Protect high standards of operational health and safety
* Strategic planning for the next three, six and twelve months, with a particular focus on peak‑season planning
* Be accountable for operational leadership by measuring performance, offering feedback, and providing development support
A Day in the Life
You’ll be based at one of our operational sites. Spending lots of time on site will help you develop your team and collaborate on operational planning. This role has two sides. You’ll manage and motivate a team of leaders. At the same time, you’ll focus on long‑term objectives, creating contingency plans to keep operations running and mitigate against disruptions, and driving initiatives that boost quality, safety and productivity. You’ll be a source of accountability and a business‑wide champion of best practice.
About The Team
Amazon couldn’t deliver at pace without the Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team. As part of ATS, you’ll be welcomed into a diverse team that plays a central role in our success. Using air, sea and road transport, as well as sortation centres equipped with the latest technology, you’ll help Amazon’s transport run at maximum efficiency. Our team captures data and uses it to drive decisions. They are key to making Amazon more innovative and efficient. We put safety first as our people are our priority.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree
* Experience in a global supply chain, manufacturing, production/ procurement, distribution, logistics or related environment/operations
* Experience managing a salaried, hourly and agency workforce in a logistics, fulfillment, last‑mile manufacturing, engineering, production or distribution environment
* Experience using lean process improvement, Six Sigma methodologies or related performance metrics/process improvements to increase efficiency within processes, forecasting, planning, optimization, and logistics
Preferred Qualifications
* Work flexible hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays
