The BOA Group are seeking to appoint a motivated, dedicated and aspirational Teacher of Product Design to join the team at BOA Digital Technologies Academy.

This is an exciting new role in a growing school. The postholder will play an important part in the future of a new school as we welcome the first Key Stage 4 cohort and prepare for the addition of a sixth form in 2027.

Currently comprising of three academies – 'BOA Creative, Digital and Performing Arts' (opened in 2011), 'BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy' (opened in 2021) and 'BOA Digital Technologies' (opened in September 2022) – located in the centre of Birmingham and within the hub of the creative and digital industries in the West Midlands, we benefit from superb facilities for academic, vocational and extra-curricular activities.

THE ROLE:

BOA Group is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Product Design, working alongside the wider staff and leaders to provide excellence across the Group. The role will be primarily based at BOA Digital Technologies Academy with travel to other BOA locations as required.

The postholder will undertake teaching for students within the Product Design subject area in accordance with the Academy's ethos and relevant plans. Product Design is a new pathway at BOA Digital and the postholder will have an exciting opportunity to build and shape a successful design technology department.

There is potential for the postholder to take on an additional Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR). This will be discussed at interview.

Working in close collaboration with our creative and industry partners to develop and deliver specialist programmes of study, students learn the skills they need to join the very best production houses all over the world.

BOA Digital Technologies – an academy for 11–18-year-old learners passionate about digital technologies, which opened for the first time in September 2022. BOA Digital Technologies delivers a specialist education in creative and digital technologies, maximising future opportunities for all students working closely with the industry to ensure that we address the growing demand for digital level skills now and in the future. The school currently has circa 350 students in Key Stage 3 and will welcome the first Key Stage 4 cohort in September 2025.

Our academies are regional and admit students from across Birmingham, the Black Country (including Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton) as well as from Coventry and Solihull. Please see the individual academies websites for further information and admissions policies.

BOA Digital Technologies Academy is an exciting 11 to 18 school that opened in September 2022. Located in a brand new and purpose built building in the hub of the digital and creative industries situated around the Eastside and the Knowledge Quarter, BOA Digital provides a distinctive education through a digital and creative curriculum.

The Academy is a growing school. We currently have circa 360 students on roll in Key Stage 3 and we are preparing for our first cohort of student to enter Key Stage 4 and commence GCSE studies in September 2025. BOA Digital will also have a sixth form provision proving advanced level pathways into careers in the digital sector, which will open in 2027.
