Looking for a senior strategic role where your ideas will shape big-brand campaigns and your leadership will make a real impact? This is your chance to join an award-winning agency on a maternity cover contract, bringing your digital and SEO expertise to the forefront while leading a talented planning team.
The role
As Senior Digital Planner, you'll act as the strategic anchor — bringing clarity, rigour, and commercial sharpness to everything the agency delivers. From always-on activity to campaign planning, you'll shape multi-channel strategies across organic, owned and earned channels, while mentoring and managing two direct reports.
What you'll be doing
* Lead strategy across SEO, digital PR, social media, influencer marketing and LLMs, working with senior leadership to keep the agency proposition ahead of the curve
* Act as senior client lead for SEO-only accounts, while overseeing the Planning team's delivery and performance
* Mentor Senior Strategists and freelance partners, ensuring the best ideas rise to the top
* Oversee and contribute to annual and quarterly planning for retained clients, setting KPIs and course-correcting when needed
* Work with strategists to deliver full-funnel audits and roadmaps for new clients
* Translate market and audience insights into channel strategies that drive measurable growth
* Roll up your sleeves to support on SEO deliverables or Audience Audits when needed
What we're looking for
* Agency experience: Proven senior-level background within digital, SEO, or content/PR agencies
* Multi-channel digital planner: Expertise in SEO plus strong knowledge across digital PR and social, with the ability to integrate strategies across organic, owned and earned channels
* SEO expertise: Deep understanding of technical and content SEO, with knowledge of how this connects to wider digital campaigns and earned linkbuilding
* Project leadership & client service: Skilled at managing multiple accounts and complex workstreams, while building trusted client relationships
* Team leadership: Experience managing and developing direct reports
* Analytical edge: Confident in translating data and insights into clear, actionable recommendations
* Technical know-how: Hands-on experience with tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Tag Manager, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and social ads managers
About the agency
Independent and award-winning, this Oxford-based agency blends bold storytelling with digital expertise across SEO, PR, social, influencer marketing and content. With over 20 years' experience, they help brands cut through the noise with campaigns that build visibility and deliver measurable impact. What's on offer
* Contract: 6-month maternity cover, with the potential to continue on a monthly rolling basis
* Salary: Up to £60K DOE (pro rata). Open to full-time or part-time (either 3 full days or 5 shorter, school-hours days)
