Summary:- Responsible for the assurance, governance and continual development of their Integrated Management System (IMS), supporting the full product lifecycle—from design through manufacture, supply, delivery and installation.
Lead, build and develop an effective compliance function that meets legal, regulatory, contractual and certification obligations, evidenced through robust controls, records and assurance activities.
The role is strategic and operational, providing independent oversight, clear escalation and practical support to embed proportionate compliance controls across the business.
Key Accountabilities
Compliance & Governance
· Define and implement the Compliance Strategy aligned to business goals, regulatory changes, and industry best practice.
· Ensure the Integrated Management System (IMS) and compliance controls align with the Building Safety Act, Golden Thread requirements, and product governance expectations.
· Internal competence; ensure evidence of competence is captured and controlled, working closely with the Design Director and HR Manager to implement robust training measures and monitor ongoing compliance.
· Own the management of non-compliance and breaches (including non-conformances), ensuring timely escalation, investigation, corrective actions (CAPA) and close-out with learning captured and shared.
· Provide supply chain compliance assurance where required (supplier/subcontractor onboarding evidence, periodic checks and audit support), ensuring compliance evidence feeds into internal records.
· Define and oversee compliance-related information governance (document control, versioning, retention and audit trail) to support Golden Thread requirements and readiness for external review.
· Be the compliance representative to clients, auditors, certification bodies, and regulatory authorities including BSR.
· Represent the function at management level and to the board when applicable

5. Implement a clear compliance framework that is in place, understood and adopted by key functions.
6. ISO/IMS external audits completed successfully with no major non-conformities and sustained control of documentation, versioning and change management.

Golden Thread information governance strengthened: required records are complete, traceable and accessible, with improved “right-first-time” submissions Training and competence evidence is robust (training matrix, refreshers and compliance monitoring), with clear actions where gaps are identified.

9. Experience & Behaviours
10. Demonstrable experience in a compliance/assurance leadership role, ideally within construction, structural steel or manufacturing.
11. Extensive knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, EN 1090, and construction product governance.
12. Demonstrable experience embedding proportionate compliance controls and influencing operational teams to meet standards and obligations.
13. Significant experience with audits, investigations, root cause analysis and preventive controls.
14. Competence in process mapping, system development and digital compliance/assurance tools.
15. Hold, or be willing to obtain, Lead Auditor qualifications.
16. Full UK driving licence.
17. Desirable Experience in balcony or façade products.
18. Experience presenting to regulatory bodies, certification organisations, or senior client stakeholders.
19. Experience implementing digital compliance and traceability platforms.
20. CSCS card (SMSTS/SSSTS preferred).
21. Strong working knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Golden Thread requirements, and compliance obligations.
