Job Description
Reporting to the Shift Superintendent, the Shift Technician will provide first level technical support to their team with respect to reactive, planned and predictive maintenance for the effective and efficient operation of the seed crushing and oil extraction production plant at ADM Erith. The successful candidate will be a regular and reliable attendee, expected to work both independently under their own initiative and as part of a multi-disciplined team when required to complete a wide range of industrial inspection and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to:-
1. Routine inspection and maintenance of operational plant and infrastructure services.
2. Fault finding and rectification within low voltage (<1000Vac) and industrial control circuits.
3. Completing basic mechanical tasks independently and supporting in those of a more complex nature.
4. Completing inspection audit documents for record keeping purposes and providing plant condition feedback.
Supporting the shift team with duties of a lesser nature as deemed necessary and as directed by the Shift Superintendent.
Main responsibilities:
5. To carry out planned, preventative and predictive maintenance on all types of equipment, machinery and processes operated across the site in line with ADM safe operating guidelines and protocols.
6. To carry out fault-finding and repair on equipment to minimise plant downtime and optimise efficiency.
7. To conduct routine checks and monitoring of equipment.
8. To undertake electrical, instrumentation, automation control and calibration as appropriate.
9. To perform electrical isolations as part of the ADM Erith Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) safe system of work.
10. Use the Maximo work order system for creation and completion of work orders.
11. To ensure that at all times tools, equipment and your working area is fit for purpose.
12. To work as part of the shift team to ensure safe and efficient operation of the plant.
13. Establish and maintain good housekeeping standards in all areas of influence and observe good manufacturing practice (GMP) standards.
14. Actively encourage the ongoing development of a safety culture by participation in ADM safety initiatives and as per legislative requirements.
Qualification and experience
15. A multi-skilled engineering technician with experience in electrical, mechanical and control disciplines.
16. At least 5 years’ experience working in an industrial/process environment.
17. Proven experience working with electrical distribution apparatus.
18. A good knowledge and understanding of safe working practices.
19. PLC experience is desirable.
20. A recognised electrically biased qualification at HNC or equivalent demonstrable experience.
21. High voltage and/or hazardous area work experience would be advantageous
