An opportunity has arisen to join our well-established practice team at Talbot Medical Centre. We are looking for 1 or 2 Healthcare Assistants (1 full-time or 2 part-time).
You will be working within our clinical team, dealing with a variety of needs and challenges in the practice, as well as delivering actual benefits and making a true difference.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the Job
The Healthcare Assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion, and patient education.
The core responsibilities include:
* New patient health checks
* Supporting the practice nurse with health promotion programmes
* Carrying out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, recording findings accurately
* Facilitating routine and 24-hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly
* Undertaking wound care, dressings, and other clinical tasks as required
* Supporting the practice nurse with the management of chronic disease clinics
* Weight Management
* Acting as a chaperone as required
* Administering flu vaccinations when trained
* Carrying out ear irrigation under supervision when trained
* Performing ECGs as requested
* Ensuring specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation
* Ensuring clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session
* Routine cleaning of fridges in accordance with guidance
* Removing clinical waste and replacing sharps bins following IPC policies
About us
We have a friendly team at Talbot, including 2 GP Partners, 4 salaried GPs, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 3 practice nurses, 1 healthcare assistant, 1 pharmacist, and 2 GP Assistants. We are also a training practice with 1 GP registrar.
Our supportive admin and reception teams include 2 practice managers and an office manager.
We are a family practice providing care to generations of families.
