Overview
As a certified nurse or paramedic, you will provide healthcare services within the criminal justice system, caring for detainees in custody suites.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality patient‑focused care to detainees in custody suites.
* Work with the police to maintain safety and health standards in the custody environment.
* Adapt to shift patterns: 4 consecutive shifts on, 4 days off, with 2‑day daytime and 2‑night shifts.
* Respond to emergencies and manage diverse clinical situations as required.
* Travel within the assigned region and post after scheduling agreements.
Requirements
* Registered Nurse (RN, RGN) or Registered Paramedic with at least 2 years post‑qualification experience.
* Post‑qualification experience in a patient‑facing setting such as A&E, GP, Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, Prison Healthcare, or Ambulance Service.
* Current driving licence.
* Right to work in the UK (UK passport, ILR for ≥3 years, no absences >3 months).
* Must undergo Police Vetting.
* NMC / HCPC registration (fees covered by employer).
Salary and Benefits
* Annual salary: £41,000.
* £1,000 bonus upon completion of 12 months service.
* Estimated overtime: £3,500 per annum.
* Full‑time contract with fixed shift rota, rolling schedule available 2 years in advance.
* Part‑time or bank contracts possible, but full shifts required.
