About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join our team in Barnsley, supporting the delivery of high-quality bids and proposals within the rail and civil engineering sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven professional to take ownership of the bid process, from initial opportunity tracking through to submission and post‑bid review.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the end‑to‑end bid process, ensuring timely and high‑quality submissions
* Develop bid strategies and win themes in line with company objectives
* Coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams to gather technical, commercial and operational input
* Produce compelling, client‑focused proposals and presentations
* Ensure bids are fully compliant with client requirements, governance processes and industry standards
* Track, analyse and report on bid outcomes, driving continuous improvement
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, partners and clients
About You
* Proven experience as a Bid Manager within the rail or civil engineering industries
* Strong understanding of bid management processes and best practice methodologies
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce persuasive content
* Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under pressure
* Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and influence outcomes
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline desirable (APMP/Shipley accreditation advantageous)
