Join to apply for the Full Stack Engineer - Offers role at iwoca. Hybrid in London, UK.
We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join our Offers Team. You’ll help design and build a set of orchestrated services that will help us scale and provide a great product offering and experience to hundreds of thousands of businesses.
The Company
Imagine a world where every small business has the power to thrive. That’s the world we’re building at iwoca. Since 2012, we’ve revolutionised how small businesses access finance, turning a lengthy process into something fast and flexible. We’ve provided billions in funding to over 150,000 businesses across Europe, and our mission is to empower one million businesses with the financial tools they deserve. We combine technology, data science and human understanding to make finance feel like a superpower for managing cash flow and seizing opportunities.
The team
The Offers team own and optimise the systems that generate loan offers for new customers — including pricing, credit limits, and other offer terms — and decide which offers to present to the customer. You’ll join a build team of six people comprising data scientists, strategy analysts and software engineers, with a focus on improving our funnel. We predominantly work in a hybrid setup in London, with regular knowledge sharing to promote curiosity and learning.
The role
As a full-stack engineer in the Offers team, you’ll work closely with our tech and product strategy leads to provide critical input on technical needs and proposed solutions. While there is some front-end work, the majority of your work will be back-end.
Projects
* Optimise and deploy live decision models: Collaborate with data scientists to reduce runtime of optimisation models, ensuring timely decisions and low-load times for customers.
* Redesign offer generation architecture: Evolve and consolidate offer generation services to improve scalability and maintainability.
* Implement new customer offer display interfaces: Develop and maintain user interfaces that allow customers to interact with and customise loan offers.
* Develop robust analytics infrastructure: Build data models and pipelines to empower the strategy and analytics team with timely data for split tests and data-driven decisions.
Requirements
Essential:
* Proficiency in Python with a strong background in back-end engineering.
* Experience designing, building, and managing relational databases.
* Experience designing, building, and maintaining API endpoints.
* Confidence working across the full stack, including front-end development in React/TypeScript, with a desire to learn new technologies.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into clear, effective technical solutions.
Bonus:
* Experience with Django and PostgreSQL.
* Experience with design software such as Figma.
* Understanding of DevOps practices, including containerisation and CI/CD.
* A strong numerical or technical background, with a degree in maths, physics, computer science, engineering, or relevant industry experience.
The salary
We expect to pay from £65,000 – £80,000 for this role. Please include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates and conduct quarterly salary and performance reviews.
